Commitment to Safeguarding

Rebecca Enock Assessment & Inclusion is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and adults at risk. As an independent specialist dyslexia assessor holding a current Assessment Practising Certificate (APC) with PATOSS, I am committed to providing assessment services in a safe, respectful and professional environment.

I will:

• Treat every individual with dignity, respect and compassion.

• Maintain appropriate professional boundaries.

• Remain alert to signs that a child or adult may be at risk of harm.

• Keep accurate and confidential records where safeguarding concerns arise.

• Act in accordance with current safeguarding legislation and professional guidance.
   

Responding to Concerns
 

If I become concerned that a child, young person or adult is at risk of harm, I will take appropriate action in line with my safeguarding responsibilities. This may include discussing concerns with a parent or carer where it is safe to do so, or sharing information with the appropriate statutory safeguarding agencies where there is a legal or professional duty to do so.
 

Where there is an immediate risk of serious harm, I will contact the appropriate emergency services.
 

Confidentiality
 

Information shared during an assessment is treated as confidential and managed in accordance with the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. However, confidentiality cannot be guaranteed where there is a safeguarding concern and information needs to be shared to protect someone from harm.
 

This policy is reviewed annually and updated in line with changes in legislation or professional guidance.
